WASHINGTON - A proposal from left field may prevent Major League baseball from returning to the District next year.

D.C. Council Chair Linda Cropp told WTOP Friday that she would introduce an alternate proposal to build a ballpark adjacent to RFK Stadium on land the city already owns. Cropp says it could cut the cost of the project by 20-percent.
