Relocation Committee Meets

In their most detailed talks yet, baseball's relocation committee met for 11 1/2 hours Wednesday with District of Columbia officials to discuss the possible relocation of the Montreal Expos to the nation's capital.

"We're feeling very good," said Bill Hall, chairman of the D.C. Sports and Entertainment Commission's baseball committee. "We spent 11 hours discussing any and all deal points that baseball coming to D.C. would involve."

Hall said the talks included discussions on the specific language of an agreement that would conditionally award the Expos to Washington, should that be the choice of the relocation committee.

"In a deal of this size, there are money issues. There are risk issues. There are language issues," Hall said. "It's a full watershed; it's a full range."
