Red Sox sell out entire 81-game schedule for the first time

BOSTON -- The Red Sox have sold out their entire 81-game home schedule for the first time in franchise history.

The team said Wednesday it sold off the final scattered singles, standing-room only tickets and obstructed view seats, all of which are usually reserved for game-day sales.

Boston is the fourth team in major league history to sell out an entire season, joining the Cleveland Indians (1996-2000), the Colorado Rockies (1996) and the San Francisco Giants (2000).
